KHTB Program – “Take One”

“Take One” is a program which focuses on taking one and teaching one. This program provides opportunities for mentorship, internship, and volunteerism to garner experience and leadership skills in administration, directing, social media/marketing, sound technician, filming, and stage technicians. This program builds discipline, self-esteem, and develops leadership abilities.

KHTB believes it is their responsibility to take one and teach one to empower youth and young adults to gain knowledge, leadership abilities, entrepreneurship, and teamwork for the betterment of the person which will reflect in the community.

Each one Teach One phrase is an African proverb that originated in the United States during slavery when Africans were denied education. When someone learned how to read or write, it became their personal responsibility to teach someone else to spread knowledge for the betterment of their community.

Tell me and I forget
Teach me and I remember
Involve me and I learn

KHTB Program – “Action to Impact”

The Action to Impact program provides training in the arts for youth and young adults in the areas of theater, film, music production, drama, dance, and industry economics. Each workshop is set up to support 50 income-eligible, at-risk youth, ages 5-18 years through interactive educational activities.

Each workshop is designed to provide program participants:

1) media rich, interactive learning experiences;
2) career exploration choices that connect the students’ creative passions;
3) encourage youth to use their creative gifts to promote social responsibility and community involvement; and
4) prevent potential negative juvenile activities during unsupervised out of school times.

All services are provided by trained staff and volunteers who undergo background checks and COVID-19 screening.
